The most substantial activity of this renovation concerned various aspects of the redevelopment: from the restoration of the facades (one of which is historic and bound by the Superintendence) to the renovation of the internal atriums of the gatehouse. The external part of the building with the conservation of the sandstones and the relief elements was the most significant part of the works as the facade has constraints from the Superintendence, while the internal redevelopment also went through a modernization process. To enhance both the historicity of the building and the new technologies for closing the main entrance, an automatic door was chosen by Ponzi, a leading company in Italy in the design of automatic doors made to measure "turnkey" and which anticipates market demands and proactive at a regulatory level. In line with new architectural trends, the automatic door has been developed to the full height of the room more than 3 meters high with a telescopic opening. The TSA Bilateral Ponzi was chosen to allow maximum opening of the compartment, in fact the four central doors slide on the two fixed side ones. The finish chosen is a shiny gold color in gold stainless steel and English-style squares have been placed on the glass to harmonize the automatic pedestrian door with the exterior of the building. The RED automation, in line with recent regulations, allows the central doors to be opened in dangerous situations, allowing users to quickly escape from the building.
